Nancy Ellis is a native Staten Islander. She and her wife, Michele, have owned a home on the North Shore for nearly 11 years, where they have raised their son, Jimmy. She works as a psychotherapist for a local hospital. She has been an active and proud member of the SI LGBTQ community for a number of years - volunteering for the Pride Center, part of PrideFest planning, creating the Youth After-Pride Party, as well as being one of the founding members of Staten Island Pride Events, (SIPE). SIPE was an LGBTQ social & networking group, for which she held events like the Pride Kick-off, at the Staten Island Museum, and annual parties like the Black & White Dinner Dance, Harvest Hoedown, and St. Patrick's Dinner Dance. These events enabled the community members to come together in Pride, outside of The Pride Center, with no political affiliation, openly, locally networking and socializing. Nancy has been called The Towne Crier for the sharing of resources and information on social media, for a bounty of different issues/concerns; by the way, she wants you to know that Bayonne Bridge construction is not yet completed. She is out and proud to be one of the Grand Marshals for the SI PrideFest of 2017, along with her wife.
