Gay Pride over the years has transformed into massive party events in an increasing number of cities. What started as a protest against anti-LGBT forces, is more and more a tool for cities to demonstrate themselves as tolerant and to attract LGBT-tourists. These developments are not without possible consequences. Big gay prides like Amsterdam, London, Berlin and many others in the western world in recent years are struggling with the question how to stay relevant. Frank van Dalen will explore, in an interactive session, a strategy for bigger prides on how to innovate their prides and develop strategies to strengthen their relevance towards their own community as well as the society as a whole.
