TRANSGENDER/GENDER NON-CONFORMING (TGNC) SUPPORT SERVICES MANAGER

THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Counseling Services Manager, the TGNC Support Services Manager develops and implements support services that aim to empower transgender and gender non-conforming individuals. The TGNC Support Services Manager will develop and implement a case management program, facilitate support groups, and build a robust network of resources and referrals to services that meet the various needs of TGNC individuals. Additionally, the TGNC Support Services Manager will supervise the Case Worker as well as MSW interns.

This is a full-time exempt position with benefits.

PRIMARY RESPONISBILITES:

  • Develop, implement, and provide on-site case management services for TGNC individuals.

  • Maintain a caseload of diverse clients with a range of needs.

  • Facilitate a support group for TGNC and allied individuals in Spanish.

  • Facilitate a weekly support group for TGNC and allied individuals in English.

  • Create and maintain a robust referral system around TGNC-sensitive services.

  • Continued, consistent networking with organizations that benefit LGBTQ+/TGNC services.

  • Case management recordkeeping.

  • Supervision of the Case Worker as well as on-site MSW interns.

  • Prepare and maintain monthly calendars for TGNC workshops.

  • Attend weekly supervision and management meetings and monthly staff meetings as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A strong commitment to the Pride Center of Staten Island’s mission, values, and goals.

  • Master’s degree in Social Work from a regionally accredited institution.

  • SIFI certificate or willingness to obtain a SIFI certificate required.

  • Spanish language skills required.

  • Knowledge of the LGBTQ community’s political/civil, health, and social needs, with a special emphasis on the TGNC community.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide case management services to clients will be considered an asset.

  • Experience working with a diverse population, including ethnic, cultural, and sexual minorities with a welcoming, affirming, and harm-reduction approach.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to maintain a collegial work environment.

  • Location: Pride Center of Staten Island, 25 Victory Blvd, 3rd floor

  • Pride Center Hours: Tuesdays 10 AM – 6 PM; Wednesdays 1 PM – 9 PM; Thursdays and Fridays 1 PM – 9 PM; Saturdays 11 AM – 7 PM
